A Place For Paint in East Lyme
You can drop off unused or leftover paint at East Lyme Highway Department on 8 Capitol Drive in East Lyme this Saturday.

If you've got leftover or old paint that you need to dispose of, you can drop it off this Saturday at East Lyme Highway Dept., 8 Capitol Drive in East Lyme from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. PaintCare, an organization responsible for the program to recycle unused and leftover paint in Connecticut, is holding this one day paint drop off event. Anyone from any town is welcome to drop off paint at this location on July 27.
Created by the American Coatings Association, a membership organization of paint manufacturers, PaintCare is a non-profit organization tasked with working with state and local government to develop paint product stewardship legislation; secure permanent, year-round drop-off sites; conduct public outreach/education; and operate on-going programs in each state for the recycling of post-consumer paint.
The majority of PaintCare drop-off sites are permanent and open year-round making it much more convenient for people to recycle their paint – including latex paint. PaintCare is working towards establishing drop-off sites throughout Connecticut in the next few months as sites are being approved and added to the program. Most sites are located at local paint stores, hardware stores and town transfer stations.
