Five Things To Do This Labor Day Weekend
1. It's perfect beach weather this weekend so make the most of it! Weather.com is predicting a high of 81 degrees and a low of 60 degrees on Saturday; a high of 76 degrees on Sunday with an overnight low of 63 degrees, and just a 20 percent chance of rain all weekend long.
2. Jump on in—the water's fine! The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection's water quality report for Labor Day weekend shows that all state swimming areas are open, with the exception of Mashamoquet Brook State Park in Pomfret (which has been closed pretty much all summer long).

Businesses by Sound View Beach are hoping that will bring people to the Old Lyme's public beach in droves and give them a much needed boost before the end of the season, so stop on down and have a gelato, ride the carousel, play in the arcade, sip a cocktail by the beach and go home with a summer souvenir.
3. The final Sounds at Sunset Summer Concert Series presented by East Lyme Parks and Recreation will be held tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at East Lyme Town Hall Pavilion. The featured performer is Tim Lewis, and the concert is free!

4. East Lyme Historical Society will hold its annual Labor Day Weekend Flea Market on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Thomas Lee House. The Thomas Lee House and the Little Boston School House will both be open for tours throughout the weekend, and both are well-worth a visit.
5. The Lyme Farmers Market at Ashlawn Farm will be hosting the Dizzy River Band on Saturday morning. this was one of the most popular bands this season, so he's pretty happy to have them back. In additional to seasonal produce and fresh roasted coffee, there are always plenty of guest vendors selling everything from sea glass wind chimes to wood carvings at this popular market.
