Historic Meetings, First Meetings, And Let's Do Lunch!
Five things to help you plan your day in East Lyme, Old Lyme, and Lyme, Wednesday, July 24, 2013.

1. Today will be sunny with a few clouds this afternoon and more this evening, a high temperature of 83 degrees and an overnight low of 63 degrees. There's a 20 percent chance of rain during the day, dropping to a 10 percent chance of rain tonight, according to Weather.com. In short, it should be a bit more livable.
2. Local town history is the focus of meetings this evening. East Lyme's Historic Properties Commission meets at East Lyme Town Hall at 7 p.m. and Old Lyme Historical Society meets at 4:00 p.m. in Old Lyme Town Hall Meeting Hall.
3. The newly-formed Southeastern Connecticut Chapter of Americans for Prosperity (AFP) will be holding its first ever meeting tonight at Waterford Public Library at 7 p.m. According to the group's press release, AFP is a national organization that believes in economic freedom and opportunity and thinks that reducing the size and scope of government is the way to achieve it. 4. Speaking of history, the Lyme Public Library is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year with all sorts of special events planned. The Lyme Library Board meets at the Lyme Public Library at 7:30 p.m. if you want to find out what's coming up.
