Fourth of July Festivities This Weekend

Fireworks, festivals, farmers markets, and more going on in East Lyme, Old Lyme, Lyme, and beyond

Looking for Fireworks?

You'll find a map of all the official fireworks happening tonight and beyond throughout Connecticut here. Please note, both Riverfest and the fireworks show planned for Hartford on Saturday have been canceled.

High water levels along the Connecticut River mean that the docks where people would normally stand and from where the fireworks barges are launched will be underwater. For safety reasons, organizers decided to postpone the event. A new date has not yet been set.

Lobsterfest and Art Show

This weekend, Niantic Lions Club will host its 35th Annual LobsterFest and 53rd Annual Juried Arts & Craft Show at East Lyme Town Hall grounds on Pennsylvania Avenue in Niantic. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 6, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 7. Admission to the art show is free.

Sound View Parade

What's the Fourth of July without a parade? On Saturday, Sound View Beach  Association in Old Lyme will be celebrating independence with a parade. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun. While you're on Hartford Avenue, why not go to the beach, play a few carnival games, ride the carousel, have a Belgium waffle or some of Sound View's famous beach donuts!

Flea Market With a Bit of History

The East Lyme Historical Society will host its Annual Fourth of July Weekend Flea Market on Saturday, July 6th, and Sunday July 7th, from 9:00 am to 5:00 p.m. on the Thomas Lee House Grounds, Route 156, just east of Rocky Neck State Park. While you're there, don't miss an opportunity to tour the Thomas Lee House and the Little Boston School House.

Bluegrass and Goat Cheese at Lyme Farmers Market

Buy the goat cheese, eat the cannoli! Guest vendors at Lyme Farmers Market are bringing both to Ashlawn Farm on Bill Hill Road in Lyme on Saturday. All of this is served up with bluegrass music played by the very talented 8 Mile River Band.
