Lyme-Area Doctor Allegedly Trades Medicine For Sexual Contact

The doctor, now an Old Lyme resident, used to practice in Wisconsin.

An anonymous tip sent to Plover, Wis. police resulted in the arrest of Old Lyme resident Dr. Wilton Calderon, on charges of sexual assault.

According to FOX61, Calderon allegedly exchanged an undisclosed type of medicine for sexual contact with someone who used to be a patient.

During the course of the investigation, more female patients allege sexual misconduct. The case remains open and police are in the process of determining whether any other patients experienced the alleged sexual misconduct.

Calderon is accused of positioning himself close to patients so they were touching him during exams and allegedly fondled patients in an inappropriate manner, according to the Stevens Point Journal.

He is charged with the following:

  • 4 felony counts of third-degree sexual assault
  • 6 misdemeanor counts of sexual assault in the fourth degree

The HealthGrade website shows a four-star approval rating of Calderon and listed his office location as the L+M Medical Office Building, 194 Howard St., New London. The L + M website states Calderon is accepting patients in January 2015.
