Old Lyme's Midsummer Festival: What to Know Before You Go

For more than 20 years, Old Lyme has celebrated its artistic heritage with a Midsummer Festival. Although most events are concentrated in and around the Florence Griswold Museum, the, and the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts, Lyme Street stores are also getting in on the action with a sidewalk sale for the second year running.

Here's what you need to know before you go.

Parking is available at the following locations:

• Old Lyme Marketplace
• Florence Griswold Museum
• Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts
• Lyme-Old Lyme High School
• Lyme-Old Lyme Center and  Middle Schools
• Old Lyme PGN Library.

Shuttle buses will be making a loop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. with stops at:

• Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts/Studio 80 and Sculpture Grounds
• Lyme-Old Lyme High School
• Patricia Spratt for the Home
• Village Shoppes
• Lyme-Old Lyme Middle and Center Schools
• Florence Griswold Museum. 

Tonight's Events

At the Florence Griswold Museum:

5 p.m.-7 p.m.: Pre-concert Open House at the . Admission is free so don't miss the chance to see the special exhibition of On Hudson: Highlights from the Albany Institute of History & Art.

6 p.m.-8 p.m.: Pre-concert Dinner. Preorder from Gourmet Galley or pick up dessert from the Old Lyme Ice Cream Shoppe.

7 p.m.-9 p.m.: Free concert by River City Slim & The Zydeco Hogs

At the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts

5 p.m.-7 p.m.: Opening Reception of Finnegan's Farm Exhibition. Free.

5 p.m.-7 p.m.: Opening Reception of Selected Student Works at Chauncey Stillman Gallery.

Lyme Art Association

5 p.m.-7 p.m.: Midsummer Reception with live music, refreshments and hundreds of works of art!
