[VIDEO] Fire Prevention Week Ended With Demonstrations by Old Lyme Fire Department
Old Lyme's volunteer fire fighters demonstrated how to put out fires and cut trapped people out of cars.
Old Lyme Fire Department's annual open house, which was held on Oct. 12 this year, was a great opportunity to watch the volunteer fire fighters in action.
There were smoking hot fire fighting demonstrations and a lot of action with chainsaws as fire fighters demonstrated how they cut apart a vehicle when a person is trapped inside.

Kids enjoyed tours of the fire engines and the ambulance but the biggest hit is always the ladder truck, Fire Chief Tom Swaney said. "We have a really big turnout," he added.
