Car Taken From East Lyme Commuter Lot  

State Police Troop E is investigating a report that a car was taken without permission from the Exit 74 Commuter Lot on Flanders Road in East Lyme on September 18. The vehicle belongs to Dylan J. Carr of 36 Webster Road in East Lyme.

Lauren Crouse, 26, of 55 Forest Drive in Newington was arrested in the parking lot of Lenny's by the Beach on Hartford Road in Old Lyme on September 22 and charged with unsafe backing and driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs after allegedly failing a field sobriety test.

According to the police report, Crouse backed into the driver's side of another vehicle parked in the lot not once but twice. Erin McMahon of 2 Oak Street in Lyme was sitting in the vehicle that was hit at the time of the accident and told police she yelled at Crouse to stop. When questioned by police, Crouse said she had only had two beers and that she didn't hit anything.
