Police Blotter: Many Accidents, Few Arrests

Arrests reported by State Police Troop F, August 3-5, 2012.

 

State troopers have been kept busy responding to car accidents over the past week or so. None of them resulted in serious injuries or criminal charges, however, and there were few arrests reported this past week from State Police Troop F and none for our towns from State Police Troop E.  

The following arrest information was provided by State Police Troop F. Please note that an arrest does not signify a conviction.

August 3

Michael Gripps, 51, of 2 Sands Drive, Old Lyme, was pulled over by police who made a motor vehicle stop for unnecessary noise and for failure to signal. According to police, he became noncompliant and resisted arrest. Gripps was charged with improper hand-signalling, for exceeding the decibel noise levels, and for interfering with a police officer. Bond was set at $500.

August 4

Joel Rosado, 43, of 64 Ridge Street, Waterbury, was stopped by police at the Citgo Best Way Foodmart on Hartford Avenue in Old Lyme and charged with driving at an unreasonable speed and with Driving While Intoxicated after allegedly failing a field sobriety test. Bond was set at $1,000. 

August 5

Eduardo Santiago, 26, of 50 Bright Street, New Haven, was stopped by police at Swan Avenue in Old Lyme and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and with failing to obey a stop sign. Bond was set at $1,000.
