State Police Troop E
Jeffrey Brown, 46, 180 Flanders Road, East Lyme, was pulled over for speeding on November 5. Police officers say they detected an odor of alcohol and the accused allegedly failed a field sobriety test. A search of the suspect's clothing resulted in the discovery of a small amount of marijuana, according to the police report.

Brown was charged with driving a vehicle without insurance, without proper registration, and without a valid driver's license. He was also charged with traveling unreasonably fast, with driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, and with possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana.

Stephen C. Bowers, 45 of 1 Oak Street, Apt. 2P, White Plains, New York, was traveling southbound on I-95 between exit 75 and 74 when police say he tried to cut betwwen two vehicles and sideswiped both. The driver stopped briefly, then left the scene but was caught one mile south of exit 71 in Old Lyme in heavy traffic. There were no injuries and no towing required. Bowers was charged with a misdemeanor summons for evading responsibility, following too close, and failure to maintain proper lane.
