Single in Connecticut?

Connecticut Magazine has lots of ideas of where you can meet someone.

If you’re single and looking to meet someone Connecticut Magazine just came out with its “Savvy Singles Guide to Connecticut,” a compendium of places and ideas for meeting others.

The guide has lists and links to both specific night spots, such as Shrine at Foxwoods Casino, (which is included as a hot spot for singles), Water's Edge Inn & Spa in Westbrook (for Tuesday night Karaoke) and Noah's in Stonington Borough, (a great place to eat if you need a table for one).

None of the listings get any closer to us than that, although The Black Sheep and Burke's Tavern in Niantic and The Lyme Tavern in East Lyme are all good places to mix and mingle if you're single.

As bars aren't everyone's preferred place to meet the man or woman of their dreams, however, the article includes museums and eateries where singles gather all over Connecticut. (In Old Lyme, we've got the Florence Griswold Museum which is both a museum and an eatery!)

It also lists singles organizations that get together for specific activities, such as sailing and hiking, which would be a natural fit for folks in East Lyme, Old Lyme, and Lyme given our fantastic shoreline and countless hiking trails. The guide has several links to other websites that cater to singles and non-singles alike in Connecticut for folks who are looking to meet people with similar interests to share in activities.

The article appears in the magazine’s August 2012 issue.
