[VIDEO] The Spice Club's Opening Ceremony Was Rich in Tradition and a Grand Feast Too.
Niantic's newest eatery, The Spice Club, opened today with a blessing by Buddhist monks and a large helping of authentic Thai cuisine
It's not often you see a traditional Buddhist ceremony in downtown Niantic but for the opening of at 239 Main Street, three Thai monks came down from a temple in Boston to perform a blessing that was as authentic as the Thai cuisine that the restaurant offers.
"It's a tradition in my country. We feed the monks, we feed all the guests, we never let you be hungry," said Spice Club owner "Tai" Au.
The Spice Club is now officially open for business, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m. Reservations are not required but are recommended. Call (860) 451-8121.
