UPDATED: Groton City, Groton Town, Stonington Police Were Investigating Firefighter Who Killed Himself

The Hartford Courant reported several agencies were looking into allegations that Tim Devine had sexual contact with teen boys at the CrossFit gym he owned.

Poquonnock Bridge firefighter Tim Devine was told he was being investigated for improper sexual contact with teen boys at the CrossFit gym he owned hours before he fatally shot himself at the University of Connecticut's Avery Point campus, the Hartford Courant is reporting.

Capt. Thomas Davoren of the City of Groton Police Department said city police were working with the Groton Town Police Department and Stonington Police Department on an investigation. He declined to discuss the nature of the allegations.

“The case is being investigated and involves unsubstantiated allegations at this point,” he said.
