What's Happening in Lyme? An Update

Much of Lyme is in the dark but CL&P is on the job. Here's a look at what's open, what's not, and where to go to get supplies.

An update on Lyme from the town's web site.

The Emergency Operations Center located at the Hamburg Fire Station has been without communication. For information, please come to the information table located at the Hamburg Fire Station at 213 Hamburg Road.

Road Conditions: With the exception of Mitchell Hill Road, all town roads are open to traffic end to end. Clearing Mitchell Hill was the town's top priority today.

Power Status: Lyme is currently in the Clear and Make Safe phase of the process of restoring power to the town. Exact power restoration estimates are not yet available but it's going to take about the same length of time it took to restore power following Tropical Storm Irene last August. Please be sure to report any downed lines by calling 911 and any outages by calling CL&P at 1-800-286-2000 if you are able to do so.

Many people have commented that they've not seen and CL&P trucks in Lyme but First Selectman Ralph Eno assures everyone that CL&P crews have working constantly ever since it became safe enough to do so following the hurricane. The town has had a CL&P liason officer at the Emergency Operations Center since noon on Monday. Please assume all downed wires are energized and stay clear!
