• Dinosaurs will roar into Torrington's Warner Theatre in January (nhregister.com) — Families in Torrington can catch the Olivier Award-winning “Dinosaur World Live” at the Warner Theatre on Jan. 11, featuring life-sized puppet dinosaurs and a post-show meet-and-greet. The 50-minute show, recommended for ages 3 and up, blends interactive fun with educational storytelling about a hidden island where dinosaurs still roam.
   

• New gym gives Torrington girls basketball new momentum: It brings a higher morale for the team (registercitizen.com) — Torrington High School’s girls basketball team is tipping off its season in a fully renovated Connie Donahue Gymnasium, complete with new floor, bleachers, and baskets. Players and longtime coach Mike Fritch say the brighter, upgraded space is boosting morale as the Raiders regroup after last year’s narrow state-tournament loss and prepare for home games against Wolcott and Naugatuck.
