5 Roads In Vernon Primed For Extensive Work
Work is slated for five streets in Vernon beginning next week.

VERNON, CT — Work on five roads in Vernon is slated to commence next week.
Road work on Estelle Drive, Kanter Drive, Chelsea Ridge, Brittany Lane and Susan Road is
scheduled to begin on Monday and it will continue through the month of July, weather
permitting, municipal officials said.
The roads will be milled from curb to curb and then paved, according to project specifications. Replacement of curbs and driveway aprons will be at the discretion of the lead road foreman for the Vernon Department of Public Works.

The DPW has contracted with Rafferty Fine Grading for the milling and Galasso Paving for the paving work. Vernon Public Works employees will be on site as well.
The milling work may require each road to be closed at times during the duration of the work.
Work will begin at 7 a.m. and is anticipated to be completed by 6 p.m. each day, town officials said. Roads may be closed to all through traffic during the time frame, officials said.

Local traffic will be accommodated as much as possible but there may be delays.
Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
On-street parking will be prohibited during the work periods.
If unanticipated issues arise during construction, the road may be closed beyond 6 p.m. to
complete the work, officials said.
"Please keep this in mind as you travel through this area on those days and allow for extra time as this road closure may cause delays in the area," officials said.
