Apple Watch Alerts Cops To Crash In Vernon
As a driver was heading off a street in Vernon, his watch was alerted authorities to the accident, police said.

VERNON, CT — An Apple Watch alerted Vernon police to a drunken driving crash late last week.
A report on the Dec. 29 incident was made available Thursday.
According to an arrest report, at about 10:30 p.m. that night, the Apple Watch sent an alert to dispatchers about a crash on Dobson Road. When police arrived at the scene, they encountered a vehicle that had veered off the pavement and down an embankment and they smelled alcohol on the driver, a 43-year-old East Hartford resident.

He then proceeded to fail a sobriety test and was charged with driving under the influence.
The man is due in court on Jan. 13, records show.
