Car Flips Over Guardrail In Vernon Highway Crash
Two cars collided Sunday in a serious crash in Vernon.

VERNON, CT — Vernon firefighters and state police responded to a serious crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 84.
The crash took place just before 3 a.m. near Exit 66 on the westbound side of I-84, fire officials said.
When they arrived at the scene, firefighters found one car with heavy damage near a guardrail and second car down an embankment sitting on its side.

Those involved were able to exit their vehicles and were evaluated by EMS, fire officials said. One person was sent to an area hospital with what state police termed a minor injury.
The vehicle that had traveled down the embankment was recovered by a towing company, fire officials said.

According to a state police crash report, a 2024 Toyota Corolla was in the right-hand lane with a 2012 Nissan Juke behind it. The driver of the Juke, a 54-year-old Manchester woman, attempted to pass the Corolla, but began to spin and the two cars collided. The juke wound up against the guardrail and the Corolla flipped over the guardrail, according to a crash report.
