Charges Pile Up — And So Do The Bonds — For Vernon Man After Traffic Stop: Police

VERNON, CT — A man with several outstanding warrants was picked up by police in Vernon this week.

According to an arrest report, at 2:09 p.m. Wednesday, Vernon officers and officers from the East Central Narcotics Task Force conducted a traffic stop on Cemetery Road and arrested 40-year-old Vernon resident Jason Hansen.

The charges piled up for a Monday court appearance.

According to judicial system records:

  • Hansen has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and and the sale of narcotics and is being held on a $75,000 bond.
  • He is being held on a $50,000 bond for interfering with police, first- and second-degree reckless endangerment, engaging police in a pursuit, evading responsibility and unsafe movement of a stopped vehicle.
  • He is being held on a $20,000 bond for second-degree reckless endangerment, driving while under suspension, using an improper plate and reckless driving.
  • A $50 bond was added for the use of drug paraphernalia and possessing a controlled substance.
  • Hansen is also set to appear in court Monday in connection with a 2024 case for which he has been charged with several moving and clerical motor vehicle violations.
  • He was to appear in court Friday to face first-degree larceny, second-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment and probation violation charges related to a September arrest.
