Cops Investigating Motorcycle Crash On Hartford Turnpike In Vernon

VERNON, CT — A motorcycle rider was seriously hurt after a collision in Vernon Monday evening, police said.

The crash took place at about 7 p.m. in the area of Hartford Turnpike and Mount Vernon Drive, police said.

Vernon Fire Department and Vernon Ambulance personnel responded to provide medical care before the rider was taken to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries, police said. The rider is being termed, an "adult male" by police.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.

The roadway was closed for several hours while investigators processed the scene and has since
reopened. The crash is being investigated by the Metro Traffic Services Accident Reconstruction
Team.

No charges have been filed, police said.
