Driver Can't Complete Sobriety Tests After Nearly Taking Out Vernon Police Car: Arrest Report
A suspected drunken driver nearly hit a Vernon police cruiser last week, authorities said.

VERNON, CT — A suspected drunken driver nearly took out a Vernon police cruiser last week, authorities said.
Police released a report on the Nov. 6 incident this week.
At 8:29 that night, a white Ford Escape nearly collided with a Vernon police cruiser along the 100 block of West Main Street, according to an arrest report.

Police attempted to pull the vehicle over over and the driver, a 24-year-old Vernon woman who lives in that area of West Main Street, finally stopped on East Main Street.
An officer immediately smelled alcohol on the driver and she promptly failed to complete several sobriety tests at the scene, according to an arrest report.

She was charged with driving under the influence, records show.
Her license was also suspended and she had no insurance, police said.
