VERNON, CT — State police have made an arrest in connection with a driver trying to elude a trooper at 100 mph on Route 83 in Vernon over the summer.
The case dates back to July 18, when, just after 7 p.m., an on-duty state trooper was traveling Talcottville Road (state Route 83) in Vernon near the Regan Road intersection, according to a warrant. The trooper noticed a white Infiniti Q50 with "blacked out" window tint, suddenly change direction exiting a driveway when noticing the state police cruiser.
As the trooper turned around to follow the Infiniti, the driver sped away and began passing cars — at times crossing the center line — in an effort to elude the trooper, according to a warrant.
