Hidden Gems Of Hartford And Tolland Counties

BOLTON, CT — A place that features turkey eggs automatically qualifies as a Gem.

Anyway, welcome to Rockland Farm in Bolton, this week's Hidden Gem.

The Farm Shop, located at 50 South Road, is nestled in between the lakes region and Route 6. It has expanded and the freezers now feature steaks, burger patties, brisket and short ribs. New beef cuts are kabob meat, fajita meat/flap steaks, chuck steak, and ... beef tongue.

The farm has fresh chicken eggs, duck eggs and even turkey eggs, along with Fish Family Farm fresh milk available on the dairy shelves.

Rockland Farm is also raising meat chickens. Previously, chickens were only available via pre-order, but customers can now get USDA processed farm fresh chicken online or at the Farm Shop.

The store also features tallow products (pure cooking tallow, tallow balm, lotion, lip balm, etc.) and tallow soaps too.

Organic herbal teas and herbs by the ounce are available and custom herb blending and custom teas are made to order.

Monthly Farmer’s Choice subscription boxes are also available.
