Supermarket Manager Chases Down Seafood Thief In Vernon
A man tried to rip off a local store after visiting the seafood area, police said.

VERNON, CT — A lunchtime seafood thief was chased down by an alert store manager at a Vernon supermarket, police said.
The incident took place at 11:21 a.m. on Dec. 10, according to an arrest report.
A customer at the ShopRite supermarket in the Tri-City Plaza, identified as a 66-year-old Ellington man, picked out $104.51 worth of seafood, but when he was at a checkout counter, paid for just $16 of it, according to an arrest report.

The man then made his way out of the market, but was apprehended by the manager, according to an arrest report.
He was charged with sixth-degree larceny after police arrived.
