Hockanum Valley Community Council Celebrates 55 Years of Health, Healing & Hope

HVCC will host a community celebration at Henry Park in Vernon on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Hockanum Valley Community Council (HVCC) is proud to celebrate its 55th year of service. To honor this milestone, HVCC will host a community celebration at Henry Park in Vernon on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The event is free and open to the public.

For more than half a century, HVCC has provided vital support to families and individuals through its counseling programs, transportation services, food pantry, and case management. Founded in 1970 and guided by its mission of Health, Healing, and Hope, HVCC continues to strengthen and adapt its services to meet the needs of the community.

  • Live music and entertainment
  • Yard games and family activities
  • Complimentary food and refreshments
  • Opportunities to learn more about HVCC’s programs and history

Throughout its history, HVCC has grown its programs to respond to changing community needs—expanding counseling and transportation services, establishing a trusted food pantry, and extending support into neighboring towns. Most recently, HVCC expanded services to Norwich and Willimantic, strengthening access to vital supports for individuals and families.
