Massachusetts Man Facing Gun Charges After Stop In Vernon
The man is also facing a drunken driving charge.

VERNON, CT — A Massachusetts man is facing gun-related charges after a traffic stop in Vernon, police said.
According to an arrest report, at 1:42 a.m. Friday, police stopped a vehicle on Taltottville Road near the Trail Run intersection for "multiple" violations. As an officer questioned the driver, identified as 31-year-old Zachary Doyon, of Longmeadow, MA, he detected the odor of alcohol on his breath and Doyon failed a subsequent field sobriety test, according to an arrest report.
He was then arrested for driving under the influence, according to a report.

During the search of the car, officers located a disassembled pistol, along with two high-capacity magazines. Police later learned Doyon did not possess gun permits, according to an arrest report.
In addition to the drunken driving charge, Doyon was charged with driving without insurance, driving while under suspension, carrying a pistol without a permit, a traffic control violation and illegal possession of a large capacity magazine.

He posted a $15,000 bond and is due in Rockville Superior Court on March 11, records show.
