Mystery Car Located — But Not Stolen — In Vernon
Vernon police are trying to piece together a confusing call from Thursday night.

VERNON, CT — Vernon police are trying to piece together a confusing and suspicious incident from Thursday night that prompted a response on Route 83.
At 10:25 p.m. Thursday, the Vernon Police Department received a call about a "suspicious situation" in the area of 630 Talcottville Road and, when officers arrived at the scene, they were told by a woman that her vehicle had been stolen, according to a news release.
Officers were subsequently able to determine that the vehicle was not stolen and it was located a short distance away, according to a news release.

All police would say is that "all parties involved are cooperating," after the call prompted a noticeable response, according a to a news release.
The was never a threat to the public and the investigation remains open, police said.
