New Police Canine Team Ready To Hit The Streets In Vernon

VERNON, CT — There's a new Vernon police canine team officially on the job.

On Monday, Officer James Platosh and his canine partner, Boone, graduated from the demanding 13-week East Hartford Canine Training Program.

Throughout the course, Platosh and Boone trained extensively and earned certifications in:
  • Tracking
  • Narcotics detection
  • Evidence recovery
  • Bite work

Said police: "Please join us in congratulating Officer Platosh and K9 Boone on this outstanding achievement. They’re now ready to hit the streets of Vernon and provide a positive impact to the community they serve."
