Owner Of 'Upscale' Tattoo Parlor In Vernon Happy With His New Home
"This was a blessing in disguise," said Tim Wright, who owns The Tattoo Parlor.

VERNON, CT — Tim Wright was kicking back just after The Tattoo Parlor opened Wednesday in Vernon.
He was in a totally chill mood. After all, the consternation over his location in the fall was well past him and he was completely settled into his new digs at 352 Hartford Turnpike.
"I'm happy here," Wright said about the move to a corner storefront in the plaza. "It's 10 years I've been in business and this was a blessing on disguise."

The parlor had a foothold for years in the plaza at Vernon Circle that housed a pizza place and a trophy shop. The owner of Anthony's sold the commercial cluster upon retirement and things seemed status quo.
Wright said landlord tensions led to the departure of Wraith Engraving & Awards — formerly The Trophy Shop — to 538 Talcottville Road (Route 83) and then his business to 352 Hartford Turnpike (Route 30).

Wright said he's not looking back. He said he wants to be in Vernon. His wife-to-be, Jessica Eliason, is a licensed cosmetologist at Beauty and the Brush/MJ Hair Studio up the road at 435 Hartford Turnpike and he also just likes the area.
"I like this new layout and I'm glad I was able to find this location quickly," he said. Indeed, a sharp new floor, along with a combination of vintage and modern decor are befitting to what he calls "an upscale tattoo parlor."
He added, "It fits our style. We try to keep a step above the rest and welcome everyone, from a high-end client in a suit, to someone who wants a full Japanese body suit to a 16-year-old coming in with a parent to a college kid taking an Uber."

He and artist Paul "Pache" have done not only the Japanese work, but "Americana" and "Neo-Classical" and "Graffiti Art," among other designs.
"It's a comfortable atmosphere from the client who places full-trust in the artist to someone very reserved. It's a good place to be."
