Rockville High School Class Of 2025 Valedictorian, Salutatorian Announced
Meet the top students in the Rockville High School Class of 2025.

VERNON, CT — The administration of Rockville High School Wednesday announced the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2025.
My-Ngoc Lai-Huyen is the valedictorian.
Rijja Rohaan is the salutatorian.

Here are their respective biographies:
My-Ngoc Lai-Huyen, the Valedictorian, is the daughter of Hao Vinh and the late Minh Duc Tran Nguyen. She will attend the University of Connecticut in the fall to major in Actuarial Science, as well as participate in the University’s Honors Program. She is also a proud recipient of UCONN’s Day of Pride Scholarship. At Rockville High School, My-Ngoc’s involvement spanned many extracurriculars, dedicating her time as a member of the International & Intercultural Club (president), the Youth Equity Squad, the Peer Advocates, the Math Team (co-captain), the Avengers Leadership Group, the Yearbook Club (editor-in-chief), the National Honor Society, Real Talk, the World Language Honor Society, and more. She has been recognized for her academic excellence with the Harvard Book vPrize, the COLT Award for Excellence in Spanish, the Rensselaer Award, and the Superintendent’s Award. My-Ngoc also served her community as the Board of Education Class Representative during her junior and senior years.

Rijja Rohaan, the Salutatorian, is the daughter of Humera Hania and Adan Ikhlaq. She will attend the
University of Connecticut in the fall to major in Physiology and Neurobiology with a potential minor in Neuroscience. At Rockville High School, she demonstrated a strong commitment to both academics and extracurricular involvement. Rijja was an active member of the Math Team, the School Store Club, the Yearbook Club, the Library Media Club, and the World Language National Honor Society. In addition, Rijja participated in the highly selective Allied Health Program during her junior and senior years. Passionate about promoting cultural awareness and diversity, she served as the Treasurer of the International & Intercultural Club and was an engaged member of the Youth Equity Squad. Within YES, she took the lead in opening a prayer room for students and organized a multi-week fundraiser for victims of war. She has been recognized for her academic excellence with the Yale Club & Scholarship Foundation Book Award, the Rochester Institute of Technology Women in STEM Award, and the Lebbeus F. Bissell Scholarship. Outside of school, Rijja has also maintained a part-time job.
