Route 31 Sewer Work Set To Resume In Vernon
Traffic delays are expected for months at different times as the Route 31 sewer project continues in Vernon.

VERNON, Connecticut – The next phase of sewer installation work in the area of Route 31 and the Exit 67 Interstate 84 interchange is set to begin Tuesday, town officials said.
Work will begin on Route 31 near the Tolland line, then proceed north toward I-84, officials said.
Initially, work will take place during the daytime hours, officials said. Motorists should expect lane closures and delays. As the project approaches I-84, work will take place at night, from about 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., officials said.

The project will take several months to complete, officials said.
The sewer installation project is designed to provide service to residential properties where septic systems are failing, and allow for sewer service to other properties in the area.

The project is being coordinated with the state Department of Transportation. The project contractors are Tighe & Bond and Morais Concrete.
