Stabbing In Vernon Sends 1 Person To Hospital With Multiple Wounds: Police
Someone was stabbed in the Rockville section of Vernon Tuesday evening, police said.

VERNON, CT — Vernon Police are investigating a Tuesday evening stabbing in the Rockville section of town.
The incident took place at about 5:30 p.m. on Prospect Street at the intersection with Ward Street, police said.
Vernon Police Department spokesman Capt. Robert Marra said the incident took place inside a home along the 100 block of Prospect Street and the stabber fled the home and was still at large two hours later.

One person was stabbed multiple times, Marra said. The man, who is in his 40s, was taken to Rockville General Hospital a short distance away, stabilized and then airlifted from the RGH helipad to a hospital in Hartford with serious injuries, Mara said.
Police were expected to be at the scene well into the nighttime hours.
