Teen Seriously Hurt As Bicycle, Vehicle Collide In Vernon

VERNON, CT — A teen was seriously hurt when his bicycle collided with a motor vehicle Sunday night in the Rockville section of Vernon.

Police said the crash took place in the area of 118 West Main St. at 8:50 p.m. When they arrived at the scene, officers located a 17-year-old boy lying in the road, according to an incident report. Vernon EMS and Vernon Fire Department crews responded to the scene to provide medical treatment and the boy was soon after transported to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center with serious injuries, according to an incident.

The driver of the vehicle that collided with the bicyclist remained at the scene and is cooperating with police, according to an incident report.

Vernon Police and Metro Traffic Services are investigating the crash. No charges have been filed.
