Valley Falls Heritage Center Aug. Hours

Museum Open August 10 and 24

The Valley Falls Farm and Heritage Center will be open two Sundays in August for visitors to explore the six buildings that tell the story of this unique Gentleman’s Farm. Open from 1-4 pm on both days, the Heritage Center buildings are filled with interesting items used by the families that once lived there. As a Gentleman’s Farm, the property was owned from 1915 to 1958 by the wealthy Batterson-Beach family, and used as a relaxing summer place in the country. A visit to the Heritage Center provides a glimpse of their lives on the farm, as well as numerous other individuals, including the “Count” from Germany who began the idea of a building a Gentleman’s Farm. Free admission; geared for all ages. Children (and adults) are welcome to ring the bell collection, climb through the little doors in the Piggery, and explore the gardens on the hillside property. Free admission; donations welcome. Park at the Red Barn Welcome Center, 345 Valley Falls Rd., Vernon.
