Vehicles Hit When Truck Loses Major Part On Highway In Vernon
A 22-year-old truck lost a major piece of equipment that set off a highway incident in Vernon, state police said.

VERNON, CT — A 22-year-old truck lost a major piece of equipment that set off a chain reaction crash on Interstate 84 last week, state police said.
State police made an accident report available this week.
At 3:33 p.m., a 2003 Volvo VNL with a trailer hooked to it was heading east on I-84, and, just prior to Exit 65, its driveshaft "dislodged," according to a crash report.

The equipment then hit three vehicles trailing the truck — A 2019 Toyota Tacoma, a 2024 International truck and a 2000 Mercury Sable, according to a crash report.
No major injuries were reported, but all three vehicles were damaged, according to a crash report.
