Vernon DPW Sends Out Special Request To Avoid A Messy Friday
With high winds in the forecast, the Vernon DPW has a request for residents along the Friday trash and recycling pickup route.

VERNON, CT — Vernon Department of Public Works officials have sent out a special request in an effort to avoid a messy Friday.
With high winds forecast for the over night hours into a good chunk of Friday, the DPW is asking residents along the Friday pickup route to wait until the morning to place their trash and recycling bins at the curb.
The thought is to avoid having them knocked over by strong gusts and having the contents flying all over the local roads, officials said.
