Vernon Election Results 2022: How The Locals Voted

Thousands of Vernon residents cast their votes in the 2022 state and federal election in a number of key races and here's the final tally.

VERNON, CT — Vernon voters Tuesday cast ballots in several key federal and state races, including the office of governor, U.S. Senator, Congress, and local state senators and representatives.

Voting in Vernon began with a flurry. For example, both Vernon Center Middle School and Rockville High School already had 100 voters each by 7 a.m. and the count at VCMS was 508 by 8:10 a.m. At 9:08 a.m., 570 voters had cast ballots art Northeast School. A total of 10,579 voted out of 18,481 on the official checklist.

U.S. Rep Joe Courtney, a Vernon resident, cast his ballot at 8 a.m. at VCMS. He said the turnout is a testament to more and more people getting involved in the election process. Courtney ran for re-election Tuesday and easily won his hometown as part of projected victory.
