Vernon Man Sees Charge Dropped

The 69-year-old was charged after a June bank robbery.

A judge has dropped the charge against a Vernon man that stemmed from a bank robbery, reports the Journal Inquirer.

Charles Wright, 69, had been charged with first-degree criminal liability robbery after the June 26 robbery of the United Bank inside Stop & Shop.

Wright had picked up his son, given him a ride to several businesses, including the Stop & Shop plaza, then dropped him off at his home. Wright said he didn’t know his son had robbed a bank when he got back into the car outside the store.

The son, Jeffrey Wright, is still facing charges.
