Vernon's National Night Out Returning To Old Stomping Ground
An old location is now a new location for Vernon's National Night Out.

VERNON, CT — The 2025 edition of Vernon's National Night Out is returning to the St. Bernard Church parking lot.
The lot was once an annual location for the town-wide event, but it had moved to the former Ladd & Hall lot. The event is now back at St. Bernard.
This year's event is slated for Tuesday, Aug. 5, from 5. to 8 p.m.

National Night Out is one of the premier events in the Rockville section of town and more than 1,000 people usually attend. The premise is to bring the community together for a night in a healthy, safe manner in the hope of improving neighborhood relationships.
Most area social service agencies, churches, service-oriented businesses and volunteer groups have found this one of the best times to focus their outreach efforts to interact with community members. National Night Out takes place in communities throughout the United States.

There is free food — including hundreds of hot dogs and chips — and treats.
The NNO Mission statement states:
"National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live."
