6 Displaced By Fire In Wallingford

A family was displaced from their home after a fire in Wallingford, according to officials.

WALLINGFORD, CT — Six people were displaced from their home after a fire Wednesday in Wallingford, according to officials.

The American Red Cross is helping one family – four adults and two children – after a fire on Pond Hill Road in Wallingford, according to a news release.

Officials said the Red Cross provided assistance to meet the family's immediate needs. Red Cross responders included Paul Bankowski, Ray Denardis, Steve Drumheller and Peter Mason.

“The Red Cross also provided a recovery envelope containing information helpful to families recovering from a fire, including tips on cleanup; notification of important contacts; dealing with damaged items and more,” officials wrote in the news release. “The Red Cross is also providing comfort kits containing personal care items such as deodorant, toothbrushes, shaving supplies and other items a resident might need when suddenly displaced from their home by a fire.”

A family of four was displaced after a fire on Ridge Road in Wallingford early this week.

"With a busy start to the year, WFD has responded to two confirmed structure fires in the last week," the Wallingford Fire Department wrote in a post on Facebook. "Fortunately with no injuries reported. We want to remind our residents to ensure you have working smoke detectors, call 911 early and get out of the house while awaiting our arrival."
