Back To School: Wallingford 2025-26 School Calendar

WALLINGFORD, CT — Back-to-school planning has already begun in Wallingford, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day in Wallingford Public Schools for the 2025-26 school year.

The first day of school for most students in Wallingford is Thursday, Aug. 28.

Heading into the upcoming school year, some dates are subject to change. Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

• First Day: Aug. 28
• Labor Day, no school: Sept. 1
• First Day of Preschool: Sept. 3
• Columbus Day, no school: Oct. 13
• Election Day / Staff Professional Development, no school for students: Nov. 4
• Veterans’ Day, no school: Nov. 11
• Thanksgiving Break, no school: Nov. 27-28
• Holiday Recess, no school: Dec. 24 – Jan. 2
• Martin Luther King Day, no school: Jan. 19
• Winter Break / Presidents’ Day: Feb. 16 – 17
• Staff Professional Development, no school for students: March 11
• Good Friday, no school: April 3
• Spring Break, no school: April 13-17
• Memorial Day, no school: May 25
• Projected Last Student Day: June 15

Note: The first 4 days lost to school closings will be made up at the end of school year. Any days beyond 4 will be made up during spring vacation, starting with April 17 and working backwards. In the event of more than 9 days, or a school closure after spring vacation, the BOE determines the last day of school. 183 student days; 188 teacher days
