Sheehan ‘Leaves No Doubt,’ Wins Class S Football Championship
The Sheehan football team rolled past Northwest Catholic to claim the Class S championship Saturday afternoon in New Britain.
WALLINGFORD, CT — As has been the Sheehan football team’s motto this season, the Titans “left no doubt” in claiming the Class S championship with a 21-7 victory over Northwest Catholic on Saturday afternoon at Veterans Stadium in New Britain.
After trailing 7-6 at the end of the third quarter, the fifth-seeded Titan stormed past No. 6 Northwest Catholic with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, according to GameTimeCT.
Josh Durant scored three touchdowns, including two in the fourth quarter, to help lead Sheehan to victory in its return trip to the state finals. The Titans lost to Killingly in the Class SS championship game last year.

It was Sheehan's third state title in the program's history.
Durant finished with a game-high 215 yards and scored all three touchdowns for the Titans, according to the CIAC.
