Beloved Wallingford Music Teacher Dies Unexpectedly, Mourned By Community
The teacher "made a lasting impact on the lives of many," according to Superintendent of Schools Danielle Bellizzi.
WALLINGFORD, CT — The Wallingford school community is mourning the unexpected death of a longtime middle school music teacher, officials announced on Monday.
“It is with profound sadness that I share the heartbreaking news of the unexpected passing of David Boudreau, a beloved teacher who dedicated the past 23 years to teaching Chorus and Strings and leading theatrical productions at Dag Hammarskjold Middle School,” Superintendent of Schools Danielle Bellizzi wrote in a message to families. “He was a cherished member of our school community, known not only for his dedication to education but also for the kindness, compassion, and care he showed to every student and colleague.
“This is an immense loss for our school and district. Mr. Boudreau made a lasting impact on the lives of many, and we know this news will bring sorrow to the students, staff, and families who were touched by his presence.”

Dag Principal Frank Jawidzik said Boudreau was admired by staff, students, and families, and “he was the trusted adult for so many of our students, both past and present.”
“We know that this news will cause great sadness for members of our school community, as Mr. Boudreau touched the lives of so many,” Jawidzik wrote in a message to families.

Jawidzik said counselors, support staff, and therapy dogs will be available at Dag on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon to provide support to the school community.
