Nicole F., who lottery officials said beat cancer last year, won $50,000 on a <a href="https://patch.com/connecticut/mansfield/ct-lottery-uconn-unveil-championship-cash-scratch-ticket" target="_blank">UConn Championship Cash</a> scratch ticket. The winning ticket was sold at Nisa's Variety at 824 East Center St. in Wallingford, according to lottery officials. The CT Lottery has changed its policy on announcing winners by not including the winners' full names on the list in order to protect them from potential scams, according to officials.
