Driver Arrested After Going 119 MPH On I-91 In Wallingford: State PD
The man was arrested after police said he was driving nearly 120 mph on I-91 in Wallingford.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A Wallingford man was arrested after police said he was driving nearly 120 mph on I-91 in Wallingford on Sunday evening.
A state trooper was conducting speed enforcement on I-91 North near Exit 13 in Wallingford around 5:40 p.m. on Dec. 22, according to Connecticut State Police.
Police said the trooper saw a red Hyundai Santa Fe in the left lane traveling “much faster than the normal flow of traffic.”

The trooper obtained the vehicle’s speed by laser at 119 mph in a posted 65 mph zone, according to police.
A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver pulled over to the right shoulder next to the Wallingford Rest Area, according to police.

The driver, identified as 24-year-old Evan Waycott of Wallingford, was arrested and taken to Troop I in Bethany for processing, according to police.
Waycott was charged with reckless driving and improper passing at an unsafe distance. He was released after posting a $500 bond with a court date of Jan. 13.
