Ex-Middle School Teacher Accused Of Sexual Assault Of Student: Wallingford PD
Police said the student was 14 at the time of the sexual assault.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A former middle school teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old and was charged on a warrant with second-degree sexual assault and injury or risk of injury to, or impairing the morals of children, police said.
On April 15, police received a report of suspected child abuse alleging that Renee Deleon, 52, of Wallingford was engaged in a sexual relationship with a minor, police said.
Investigators determined the relationship allegedly occurred between April 23, 2008 and December 31, 2008 when the victim was 14-years old, police said.

"Wallingford Police Detectives conducted a lengthy investigation into the matter and discovered that Deleon allegedly engaged in this relationship with a student while she was a teacher at James Moran Middle School, located at 141 Hope Hill Road," police said in a news release. "Detectives learned that their relationship allegedly included numerous sexual acts, including intercourse. Detectives conducted many interviews and executed a search and seizure warrant as part of the investigation. Deleon is no longer employed by the Wallingford school system."
She was arrested on a warrant on Thursday and was released after posting $25,000 bond, police said.
