WALLINGFORD, CT — Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford will be closed for a second straight day on Wednesday, Oct. 16 due to a lack of heat, officials announced Tuesday.

In a message to the Lyman Hall school community, Superintendent of Schools Danielle Bellizzi said that due to ongoing issues with the heating system at the school, the district made the “difficult decision” to close on Wednesday to “ensure the safety and comfort of our students.”

“Due to age, the Lyman Hall High School boilers are no longer operational,” Bellizzi wrote in the message. “While we have taken all the necessary steps to purchase and install new boilers, supply, and delivery delays have caused us to need to rent a temporary boiler due to the current cold temperatures. The temporary boiler was delivered on Sunday, October 13th, and crews have been onsite completing the installation process. This process takes approximately two to three days to complete.
