Motorcyclist Dies After Crash In Wallingford: Police

A motorcyclist has died after a crash over the weekend in Wallingford, according to police.

WALLINGFORD, CT — A motorcyclist has died after a crash over the weekend in Wallingford, according to police.

Police responded around 5 p.m. on May 3 to the 1400 block of Durham Road to a report of a motorcycle crash with no other vehicles involved, according to Officer Alex Torres.

Torres said the motorcycle operator Evan Waycott, a 25-year-old Wallingford resident, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital due to his injuries. He died from his injuries on Wednesday, May 7, according to Torres.

“It was determined, the operator of the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Durham Road, when it crossed over the center line and struck a catch basin grate which caused the operator to be thrown from the motorcycle,” Torres wrote in a news release. “The motorcycle operator was not wearing a helmet or other protective gear.”

Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
