Obituary: Audrey I. (Milne) Mizenko, 83, of Wallingford

Audrey, always loving and devoted to her family, worked for many years in the cafeterias in the Wallingford Public School system.

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Audrey I. (Milne) Mizenko, 83, of Wallingford, died Thursday, July 22, 2021, at MidState Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Michael Mizenko.

Audrey was born in Manchester, England, January 27, 1938, a daughter of the late George and Mary (Torrance) Milne. She was one of 13 children.

She came to America and married Michael in 1957 in Pennsylvania.

She worked for many years in the cafeterias in the Wallingford Public School system. After retiring she worked at Quinnipiac College until retiring again at the age of 80.

She loved the kids, loved socializing and having fun. She enjoyed bingo and going to the casino as well as traveling. They enjoyed their timeshare in Aruba every year.

In addition to her husband Michael, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Scott M. and Sandi Mizenko; her daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Thomas Novak III; her grandchildren, Tyler Mizenko (Michela), Madison Mizenko (Zachary Milslagle), Megan Drew (Ryan); an d her great-granddaughters who affectionately called her “KooKoo” Harper and Hadley.

Her family would like to extend their sincere thanks to MidState Medical Center, especially, Dr. Fumo, his staff, the chemo nurses, Dr. Sheila Santhappa, Cindy Kociszewski, Christina, Dave, Michael G., Lauren, Lisa, Florinda, Kiana, Dr. Lendino and the Hospice Group.

Funeral services and interment at In Memoriam Cemetery will be private. Gifts in her memory may be sent to The Connecticut Humane Society (www.cthumane.org) or The Sisters Project of Wallingford (www.thesistersproject.org).
