Obituary: Barbara (More) Miranda, 78, of Wallingford

WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Barbara (More) Miranda, 78, of Wallingford, died Tuesday, August 10, 2021. She was the loving wife of James A. Miranda of 55 years.

She was born in Meriden, October 4, 1942, a daughter of the late John and Mary (Madar) More. A devout Catholic, Barbara was a parishioner of Church of the Resurrection where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and as a C.Y.O. teacher.

She worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield in North Haven and was devoted to her being involved in her children’s lives.

She is survived by her children, Maryanne Miranda (Rick Coe), James Miranda (Judith Young), and Karen Miranda (Shari Fogel); her brother John More (Christine); her brother-in-law, Raymond Rys Sr.; sister-in-law Dolores Cofrancesco; her grandchildren, Benjamin and Jacob Miranda and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister Mary Jane (More) Rys; brother-in-law Joseph Miranda Sr., Louis Cofrancesco, Fred and Shirley (Miranda) Smith.

Her family would like to extend their thanks to her special friends Joey Lee, Sal Pedalino and the caregiving staff and friends of the Regency House of Wallingford whom she cared for deeply; in particular, her special friend Peter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Church of the Resurrection.

Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
